Beginning on October 24, 1949, businessman Bob Cutter would come to your home to show you the latest Kirby vacuum. At that time, his business was called Cutter Kirby. In the local area Bob’s fair practices and thriving business caused his name to become synonymous with vacuums. Customers still come into our store and say “I have a Cutterkirby” or ” I need bags for my Cutter”.
After performing thousands of product demonstrations, Bob could see that no single vacuum could serve everyone’s needs. In 1981, the name of the business was changed to Cutter Vac, LLC and Bob and his wife Lillian opened the door to sales and service of all brands of vacuums. In 1992 Bob and his son Ron decided to expand the business and start selling and installing Central Vacuum Systems.
In 1997 Bob’s son Ron along with his wife Laurie purchased the business, adding a new page to the Cutter Vac, LLC history. Bob did not step aside however, he still put in an active 35-40 hours a week into the business that he started and loved so much. On February 22, 2006 Bob went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are all sure that heaven is just a little bit cleaner now that Bob is there. In his 56 years in the vacuum business Bob, Lillian and their staff sold well over 25,000 vacuums and serviced over 75,000 vacuums.
Cutter Vac, LLC has continued to grow. Our goal is to help you achieve a cleaner, healthier, more comfortable Home. In 2008 we added Air Duct Cleaning to our list of services. While a good vacuum is essential to reducing dust and therefore making the home healthier, we recognized that another important part of reducing your homes dust and allergens was by offering vent cleaning. Another way to greatly improve your homes health is to reduce the radon levels in it so, in 2010 Ron became certified for radon mitigation. By adding low radon to the list, Cutter Vac, LLC has been able to make a substantial difference to the health and comfort of the homes of Fond du Lac and surrounding areas.
